Social media consultation for Benefit Cosmetics, 2016

‘Laughter is the best cosmetic’ is the marketing  campaign of leading beauty brand Benefit Cosmetics. Meg was invited to present a feminist perspective on digital storytelling online to the Director of marketing and her team at Benefit headquarters, London. Meg presented new ideas on how to engage customers online with the campaign, ‘Laughter is the Best Cosmetic’ alongside her teaching team from Goldsmiths University ICCE. Meg created a digital self-portrait photo series upon ‘The Good Ship Benefit’ a boat docked at Victoria Embankment where she produced and styled bespoke costumes and styling as a sailor and a mermaid for her persona Megastar aboard the pop-up boat which was designed by Devries and The Persuaders for Benefit Cosmetics. Images from this photo series contributed to a selfie campaign run on Benefit’s twitter feed.

Commissioned by award winning integrated marketing specialists Sparkle Productions Ltd alongside Christopher Hogg and Adah Paris the teaching team who produced ‘Goldsmiths University ICCE ‘How to run social media and marketing campaigns’.
