My Mother’s Garden

Self-portrait photo series, 2015

Meg produced, directed and styled a self portrait series with her Mother located in the garden of her childhood home. At the time the photos were taken Meg was sharing her Mother’s home and in these images, she explores the intimacy and trappings of living with a parent as an adult. Meg was inspired by the 1975 American documentary film by Albert and David Maysles depicting the everyday lives of two reclusive upper-class women a mother and daughter both named Edith Beale who lived in poverty at Grey Gardens, a derelict mansion in East Hampton.

Selected by Lemonade Gallery ‘My Mother’s Garden’ was exhibited in a group show of female contemporary artists including Sarah Maple, May Waver, Christo Viola, Syl Ojalla, Csaba Kis Róka, Jacky Hutson.
